Sexual Signals: Availability, Willingness, Challenge

Share this ARTICLE with your colleagues on LinkedIn .

The woman in the photograph at left is virtually screaming her message in non-verbal but obvious cues, designed to send out, at minimum three messages, each and all related to a very physical seduction.

And none of these seductive signs is related remotely to the provocative manner in which she is dressed or her physical attractiveness by average US "typical" male standards. In fact she is a study in temptation, persuasion and a potential call (to the right bidder) to action.

There is a seduction in the making, just by examining this picture.

No details are necessary.

1)  The twisting of her hips and lower midsection is associated with flexibility, fitness, eagerness to move and sultry sexual activity. Further it thrusts her chest partially forward (straining confinement), while putting her hips in a passive, receptive position;

2) Her straight forward, full-contact facial expression and position, as well as her slightly cocked right shoulder [as if there were a chip on it] presents an opportunity and a challenge, if you were to dare to take it. She is signifying courage, haughtiness and self-confidence, but she is accentuating her look of accessibility and willingness;

3) Her right hand, which is tugging downward at her jeans is indicative of aggressiveness, and is a way to subconsciously (on the part of both the young woman and her quarry) cause the observer's eyes to complete an intensified visual triangle of her right shoulder, her left breast, and her right hand, tugging at her jeans. The viewer (presumably her quarry), as a matter of courtesy would try to maintain eye-contact, but his/her peripheral vision would force involuntary repeated looks at the seductive triangle which she has accomplished without even moving.

Her principal mode of non-verbal communication is posture, as opposed to gesture, and it is indeed quite potent. It is critically important to remember that body-talk is not necessarily conveyed through motion or gesture or mobile signalling -- our message is often made very clear just by our posture or stance.

Sexual Signals - The Art Of Gazing.

Share this ARTICLE with your colleagues on LinkedIn .

When you are in face-to-face one-on-one situation (or in what can be manipulated into one), you happen to male, and are just becoming acquainted with a woman, her imagination can be stimulated by your eye movements and focal placement ("The Art Of Gazing") with shocking simplicity and effectiveness.

No, this doesn't involve pheromones, hypnosis or anything more arcane than simply knowing where to look, how to look and for how long. This makes sense because the eyes interact to stimulate various parts of the brains of both parties. It is simply a matter of who takes the lead. And, most wonderfully, it can be done with a couple of yards distance between the two of you, provided that you are fully facing each other -- the effect is more powerful as the distance between the two of you is reduced or closed, but sometimes behaving in a socially appropriate way, you cannot close distance by walking up closer or possibly invading someone else's personal space.

Our subject male must spend most of this potentially brief time (you two might be stopping just to chat for a moment, or one of you may be called away (hopefully not to testify before a congressional committee) doing precisely this:

1) Make initial eye contact, open your mouth as if to say "hello" -- you can even mouth the words -- and briefly nod your head in the affirmative as if agreeing to something that she has said;

2) Re-establish the eye-to-eye contact while you speak about anything (company picnic, budget review, your upcoming endoscopy; it doesn't matter, because your body is having a separate conversation with her, and her subconscious is keenly aware of it, while she might not be consciously aware of it) for at least twenty seconds. Lock it in:

3) Let your gaze drop to her lips and hold it there for at least twenty seconds -- it's as if you love watching her speak;

4) Gaze back up and make eye contact again, as if you had been temporarily distracted by her lips, and their beauty and grace in forming words;

5) Alternate the spotlight of your gaze (sounds like a Cole Porter tune) between her eyes and her lips, until the encounter is concluded. Exchange pleasantries.

Your new female acquaintance will find herself (perhaps despite herself) thinking about you in a sexually-oriented context. The world is your laboratory. If this experiment suits your purposes, I would strongly suggest that you try it.

Good luck to you, and thank you as always for reading me and sharing me across your social media.

How Men Communicate: Tough Guys And "Iron Johns"

Share this ARTICLE with your colleagues on LinkedIn .

Men communicate, confide, bond and emote differently than women do. Part of this is as a result of nature (neurochemistry and time-honed genetic sex-linked adaptations that assist men in mating and fighting), and part of it is a generations-old [back to the most primitive times] role that has been handed down from father to son and reinforced by society.

Speaking statistically, many men feel obligated to emulate the "Iron John" stereotype: A powerful, self-reliant, quiet tower of strength who does not cry, who keeps his secrets well-hidden, does not need to confide, stays calm and rational in a crisis, and tends to communicate more with eyes or body language than with deep discussion.

This behavioral stereotype is further reinforced by the ever-more physical roles of cold but infinitely enterprising and powerful muscular men. We all ("we" being typical heterosexual males of a certain age) secretly crave six-pack abs, but we can live without them. Women, on the other hand, sometimes literally starve themselves to death or work out to the point of muscular degradation in order to look like the models whom they see paraded before them in glossy magazines and on television commercials. [proof that I can read your mind? You were just thinking of a Victoria's Secret advertisement, instead of about the GEICO gecko.]

My closest friend from childhood, Jay Goldberg (author, teacher, business plan expert and mentor to entrepreneurs) sent me this terrific video clip taken from the TV show "Family Guy" which absolutely hits the middle-aged "manly men "stereotype right on the head [no jokes please]. He has a knack for sharing these hysterical things with me -- it'b become part of my mental health protocol.

Simply click on the image below to enjoy it.

Men are very tenuous about communications, especially with other men. They tend to stick with the group mind, until they have an opportunity to break a small hole in the brick wall and laughingly confide about some exception, as if making a joke. As the joke brings affirmative nods, and others begin to enter into this "one brick at a time" ritual, the deepest feelings eventually come out.

It's tough to be a man -- but in my case, the alternative would be unthinkable as well as unaffordable.
